Liuzhou, referred to as "Liu", nicknamed Hucheng and Longcheng, is the second largest city in Guangxi, the largest industrial city in Guangxi, and one of the top five automobile cities in China. Liuzhou is the second-largest city in Guangxi. It is an important tourist destination in Guangxi Region. Liuzhou has a history of more than 2,100 years of construction and is a national historical and cultural city. Liuzhou is famed for its Rare Stone, known as "Chinese Stone Capital".
 

Liuzhou is located in the north-central part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is adjacent to Guilin in the east, Hechi City in the west, Laibin City in the south, and Hunan and Guizhou in the north and northwest respectively. The total area of Liuzhou City is 18,618 square kilometers, of which the urban area is 3,555 square kilometers.
 

Liuzhou is a region where many ethnic groups live together. Zhuang and Dai are the oldest indigenous inhabitants of Liuzhou, which originated from different Yue people's branches in the pre-Qin and Baiyue areas. Liuzhou is inhabited by 48 ethnic groups including Zhuang, Han, Miao, Yi, Yao, Hui and Yi, and ethnic minorities account for more than 52% of the city's total population.
